I completely agree about becoming the only game where people can browse. Speaking as a former employee/newly minted patron-only browser, nothing on the internet is comparable to finding some treasure on the shelves. It is the best feeling finding something you did not even know you wanted. It is a feeling I have to believe we are not alone in feeling.

Don’t we already have that problem with audiobooks? Why didn’t anyone get upset or think about these things with them? It does seem to be possible to download audiobooks and they don’t really go away, but is that legal?

These are good points. I don’t watch Fox News so I cannot really answer this question. I agree with you that Dennis Miller’s comedy was snarky, but it was an act. I have recently listened to his talk radio show and didn’t find him to be the same way. Here is the question I find myself asking. “Would I want to work with that type of person? Would the interactions we have be positive and would the work we would do together be better than the work that we could do alone? In the creative process would we inspire and support each other and bring out the best?” I find snarky behavior to be draining and oppressive, but that’s just me.

Even when I sort of liked him, I always felt that Dennis Miller was snarky.
